honey lake.

i wanted to share about our weekend (even though it’s wednesday!) scott officiated a wedding for a friend of a friend in Greenville which is less than an hour away from Tallahassee. Just hop on I-10 E and veer right onto an old country road and just keep driving. The couple held their wedding at Honey Lake Plantation and it was beautiful! I didn’t actually go to the ceremony, but the Bride’s parents offered to pay for us to stay in one of the rooms which was very generous of them. After you drive down a dirt road you come up on this small perfect little white chapel with a steeple situated just on the edge of the lake. Drive a little further and you see the main entrance where the gathering hall is located. This is where the reception was and check in and such. Everything is brand new and very equestrian. All of the buildings were painted white with black trim which was very simple and clean. The property is huge and has anything from kayaking to a spa, pool and fitness center, fishing and an outdoor area to BBQ and have a fire. The building that we stayed in was so nice! You walk in and immediately smell pine wood. The floors and walls were all made of pine and the decor was very chic western, if you can imagine. Our room was nice and big and close enough to walk to the lake. I would say the plantation is not only great for a couple, but also for families. There is plenty to do with walking trails, horses, kayaking, etc but also simple enough to get away and just relax. I’m glad we were able to go and have a short little get away.
